This Pinilian weave showcases the masterful skills of the weavers in Santiago, Ilocos Sur with its complex brocade-like weave. Sticks are inserted on the chosen warp embroidered in a traditional vertical loom to achieve an embroidered-like texture and look. The hexagon design of the Pinilian weave is breathtakingly elaborate. While it may appear to have some similarity to the weavers' depiction of the river flow, the hexagon design's intricate details wonderfully distinguish it.
