- Easy to build and also easy to trim for glide
- Spectacular flights to over 400 feet (121m)
The Mini-Condor is a model rocket boost glider that uses 1/2A or A-sized rocket engines. It zooms upward by rocket power and then glides gently back to the ground after dropping off the motor and its streamer pod. The glider trims easily, so you'll get fantastic flight durations that wow spectators because it looks so realistic. The primary component that makes the Mini Condor unique is a pre-molded plastic wing dihedral attachment piece. This unique piece assures builders that the wings are at the proper dihedral angle with respect to the fuselage and that the wings are pitched up slightly. The dihedral forces the glider to right itself so that the top is towards the sky and the pitch angle of the wing is the necessary ingredient that allows the glider pull out of a dive. Because of this unique component, the model is really easy to trim to get a nice, steady glide. The other unique feature is a molded pop-pod hook. This piece allows the pop-pod to be easily attached to the glider and to detach when the streamer deploys. All the complexity has been removed from the model, so it is a joy to build and it trims easily. While it is mostly used just for fun, the glider was designed for use as a competition model for using either mini-engines with 1/2A or A-size total power. It will get you a qualified flight that is extremely competitive with other modelers!
